The Journal of Southeast Asian Education is an official Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) publication produced twice a year. The inaugural issue of the Journal of Southeast Asian Education was launched by the SEAMEO Secretariat in July 2000.

The main purpose of this international journal is to provide information and analyses to assist in policymaking and planning in the countries in the region. It promotes the interchange of ideas on educational issues and comparative studies, both within the countries of the region and other parts of the world. Each article in the journal was written to enable readers from outside each country to obtain an overview of how education is carried out outside its borders.

The theme of this special issue is “Enhancing Education and Training and Adopting 21st-Century Curricula to Address Climate Change." It features official contributions from various universities and schools, such as Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, the Naglaoa-an National High School, Don Honorio Ventira State University, AFS Intercultural Programs, the University of the Philippines (UP), the Kalalake National High School, Cavite State University, the University of Batangas, Universitas Kristen Duta Wacana, Northern Bukidnon State College, the Lumban National High School, the Quezon Science High School, De La Salle Lipa, Philippine Normal University (PNU), the Lipa City Senior High School, the Aleosan National High School, Department of Education (DepEd) SDO Tabaco City, Vinh University of Technology Education, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, and Silpakorn University. The various articles in this journal present frameworks, projects, and programs focusing on the most effective educational initiatives in Southeast Asia and beyond.
