This first issue introduces the SEAMEO Ministries, who lead the process of setting the agenda for their respective countries. It shed lights on a number of critical policy issues and objectives that SEAMEO ministries are dealing with:
- curriculum to promote the universal values of peace, tolerance and social harmony in Malaysia;
- the use of mother tongue as a bridge medium of instruction in Thailand to enhance educational achievement and foster respect for linguistic diversity;
- the expansion of access to secondary education in Indonesia;
- the management of schools in Singapore and the process of training the school leaders;
- the training of teachers in Brunei Darussalam to improve the delivery of vocational and technical education.
