This ASEAN Educational Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Education provides the integrated implementation guidelines for agencies under the supervision of the Ministry. The Plan is in line with the Thai Government’s policy and the policy of His Excellency Admiral Narong Pipatanasai, Minister of Education.

It also highlights the implementation guidelines as suggested by a Chair of the Committee of the Acceleration of the Preparation for the Integration into the ASEAN Community in 2015 and beyond (General Surachet Chaiwong, Deputy Minister of Education). The directions of these guidelines has been focused on "Promoting Understanding, becoming proficient in Language, developing closer relations, keeping pace with technology, and creating a spirit of cohesion within ASEAN" = "เสริมสร้างความเข้าใจ ใฝ่รู้ภาษา มุ่งพัฒนาสัมพันธ์ รู้เท่าทันเทคโนโลยี สานสามัคคีอาเซียน"
