We’re delighted to bring you a special extended edition of our newsletter, covering the period from April to July 2025—a slight departure from our usual quarterly cycle, but with good reason. July has been an especially vibrant month for SEAMEO, filled with high-level events, regional collaboration, and renewed commitment to educational transformation.

This quarter, through the 53rd SEAMEO Council Conference (SEAMEC), the CPRN Summit 2025, and the SEAMEO Centre Directors Meeting (CDM), we engaged in dynamic conversations
on key priorities shaping the future of education in Southeast Asia. These included greening education, equity and inclusion, school leadership, and media and AI literacy—the latter emerging as a new assessment domain in the upcoming OECD PISA 2029 cycle.

Each of these themes is explored in depth through the articles in this issue, highlighting the collective progress we are making and the partnerships that continue to drive our mission forward. We hope this edition offers insights and inspiration for your own work in education and development.
