This student handbook supports young people in Timor-Leste to develop entrepreneurship skills through the Skills Training for Economic Participation (STEP) programme, guiding them through a practical journey of starting and managing their own businesses while promoting gender equality and economic participation.

The handbook comprises 5 modules: entrepreneurship fundamentals and goal setting; marketing and sales; business management; financial management; and preparing for the future.

Each module contains practical exercises, real-world case studies featuring aspiring entrepreneurs in Timor-Leste, worksheets, quizzes, and daily challenges.

Originally developed in English and translated into Tetum for Timor-Leste, this resource is highly adaptable to other ASEAN contexts and can be translated into additional languages, with contextual examples modified to reflect local business environments, cultures, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
