
Task Based Training Manual for Foundational Learning - English and Khmer
This set of worksheets provides training material for teacher educators focusing on task based pedagogy, materials development using Khmer high frequency words, and oracy to support differentiated foundational learning. The training materials explicitly address the needs within the Cambodian MoEYS early grade learning package highlighted by the ASEAN-UK SAGE Pillar 1 pilot project results, Strengthening M&E Capacity for Foundational Learning Outcomes. Sessions include an overview of differentiated learning, how to create differentiated foundational reading materials using AI and Sketch Engine lexical computing tools, and how to use the Khmer 3,000 high frequency word list, a variety of behaviourist, cognitive and humanistic task types for young learners, and pre reading speaking and listening activities. At the end of the manual, eight lessons plans developed by the participants during the workshop demonstrate the AI materials, task types, and techniques advocated by the training.
